Hi, I'm Richard. Video editor, founder of Cut Above, and a proud dad to one little girl.

I started behind the camera as a camera and audio specialist at Sony Philippines. Eight years of editing later, I still love it. I've led editing teams for agencies and brands in Australia, but every Cut Above video is edited by me personally.

Being a dad changed the way I work. I plan ahead, I hit deadlines, and I stay calm when things get busy. My daughter is also the star of my own Facebook page. Filming her everyday moments grew it to 415K followers, and taught me what makes people stop scrolling and watch.

I use AI to work faster, never to cut corners. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini help me plan scripts and hooks, break down briefs, and keep every project organised. Higgsfield and Google Flow create AI scenes. Then I finish every video by hand in Premiere Pro and After Effects, with motion graphics and sound design.

How fast will I get my video?

Short ads usually come back as a first cut within 2 to 3 days of getting your footage and brief. Bigger projects like long VSLs get a clear deadline before we start.

What do I need to send?

Your raw footage (a Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer link is fine), the script or key points, your logo and brand colours, and any ads you like the look of.

How do revisions work?

You leave time-stamped notes on the first cut with Loom or Frame.io, and I apply them fast.

Which formats do I get?

Do you work Australian hours?
